Zimbabwe is a fantastic safari destination, particularly for experienced safari enthusiasts looking for something fresh for their next adventure.
This is a vast country of contrasting habitats, home to world-renowned national parks such as Victoria Falls, Mana Pools, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Hwange, home to some of Africa’s most enormous elephant herds and good numbers of sable. There are less visited wilderness areas like Gonarezhou and private conservancies like Singita Pamushana.
Canoeing on the Zambezi River is one of the most exciting “raw” experiences on safari. Victoria Falls is stunning and steeped in history. But we think that the highlight of a Zimbabwean safari is the walking; you can get amazingly close to some of the most relaxed wildlife in the world.
We suggest combining a safari in Zimbabwe with forays into Zambia or Botswana to get the most out of the region.
