Ninian Lowis
Ninian Lowis is professional guide with over three decades of experience. He is renowned for his expertise in leading safaris across East and Southern Africa. He is in high demand for his extensive knowledge and deep understanding of Africa's wilderness, wildlife, and people. Ninian's zeal and love for Africa is infectious, and departing guests often comment on his boundless energy and enthusiasm. Ninian's family has been in Kenya since the 1920s. He is the son of Robert Lowis, one of East Africa's most respected guides, and Yasuyo Lowis, a Japanese writer. He spent much of his childhood in wild and remote areas, which instilled a lifelong interest in wildlife and a comprehensive knowledge of the bush. He holds a degree in environmental biology from Oxford Brookes University.
Lara Leakey Lowis
Lara works behind-the-scenes handling logistics necessary to make a safari seem effortless. Known for her attention to detail and meticulous planning, she takes great pride in ensuring our safaris run smoothly. Her unique style has determined the look of the mobile camp, and she is the inspiration behind our menus. The Leakey family has been in Kenya since the 1890s, and a deep-rooted interest in Africa has been handed down from generation to generation. Lara has been running safaris ever since she married Ninian in 1999.
